Mark Howarter, D.C. - Director
As owner and founder of The Chiropractic Experience here in beautiful Lawrence, KS, my mission has always been to use my resources and talents to help others. So, I have been more than blessed over the past 15 years to do exactly what I LOVE! Each day, I have the opportunity to serve people, not just for the purpose of feeling better, but to function better...whether it's playing with the kids, hitting a great golf shot, training for an event or just having some energy left at the end of the day to enjoy...Chiropractic WORKS! And people get well...naturally, and without drugs.
My qualifications, I'm a Cum Laude graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri, and certified in pediatric chiropractic care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. I've been entrusted to care for tiny babies to professional athletes and celebrities that you may know. I've also traveled to other countries like Guatemala, Ghana, West Africa and Uganda, Africa to bring chiropractic, hope and healing to those in need there. You might have seen me around the community, playing with my kids, volunteering for local service organizations, playing in the praise team at my church or cheering for the Jayhawks.
I look forward to meeting you, and finding out how chiropractic can help YOU!
Katy Bowen - Chiropractic Assistant
Hi, my name is Katy. I moved to Lawrence from Topeka at the end of last year, I am loving it! I train in town at the Last Carnival in aerial silks, Acro yoga, and hoop dance. I have a passion for performance art and personal wellness and enjoy learning about and experimenting with various health practices to see how they affect my health and well-being. I found my way to Dr. Marks office after a training injury looking for some relief in my recovery process. I was amazed, impressed by and beyond thankful for the attention I received. After hearing about the opportunity to apply I have found myself a part of something very special. Although this is a dramatic change in job field for me I am so very looking forward to getting to know you all and being a part of your wellness journey.
Lindsay Horwitz - Chiropractic Intern
Hi, my name is Lindsay Horwitz and I am an intern at the Chiropractic Experience. I graduate in May from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Business. I plan to attend Cleveland Chiropractic College in September of 2015. While at KU, I have been a member of the Club Softball team, and have been President of the team for the past year. This opportunity has allowed me to expand my leadership skills, while still playing the sport I love. Chiropractic is a new experience for me. I was first exposed to chiropractic on a medical mission trip in Malawi, Africa in January 2014. I fell in love with how successful chiropractic can be and how non-invasive it is. I am looking forward to all that I can learn from Dr. Mark in his wellness center. I am excited to work with all of his patients and share my love for chiropractic.
